Eep! I was struck by an idea of Goku being a woman (thanks to those fanfics here Goku is a woman) and here's the result!! Ooohh... Goku is one hot babe, eh? Hmm... I think Vegeta agrees with me. XD
Done with: pencils, black pens and colored pencils.
Disclaimer: Dragonball Z and its characters are (c) properties of Akira Toriyama. The idea for a female Goku is kinda mine... sort of... ; I just drew it for fun, okay, no actual claims on the ORIGINAL characters!

Dude..... How to you keep the inked lines so lovely and sharp even after you've used colored pencil over 'em? (has a real problem with seeing any of her original inked lines -- no matter how dark or thick they were, after piling oodles of layers of colored pencil and crayon ontop)

Of course, like any good art, it starts from the sketch and cleaning up the sketch itself a bit. (Or just make a cleaner sketch out of the rougher sketch. ) Once that's done, I started to draw the lines with a thin (0.2) black drawing pen. (Me and ink don't like each other.) I waited for it to dry a bit and then erase the pencil lines. After that's done, I colored it carefully, so that I didn't color the pic over the lines TOO much. When the coloring was over, I re-drew the lines again with slightly thicker (0.5 or 0.8) black drawing pens!
So there. That how I did the pic and the other color pencil arts here. Believe me, it takes a lot of patience to do all this! Not to mention time...

Yeah, totally dude...... *groans at her own vapidly short attention span* .... I guess in the future I'm either gunna have to scan in the plain inked linart and then color the sucker by hand, and scan it in and place it underneath it in photoshop.... Or just color the whole thing in photoshop, or..... meh. I dunno. *sniffles over her inking pens and colored pencils and crayons --- who are all lovely by themselves but REALLY don't get along when involved with each other*
There, there... If all fails, then keep practicing with them or try to find your own unique style in coloring the pics - the one you like the most. (Hey, I got this far 'cause I practiced... a lot. Ow, my right wrist... nyargh...)
