Besides working, I have been doodling and drawing more fanarts and original arts about my characters. (Something to keep my mind off the work.) I just don't have time to finish them... It's either being lazy or working. Feh.
Anyway, I finished sketching this yesterday and finished colouring it today. (It was a small art, so no biggie.) Yes! It's Gambit! I have to thank the Wolverine-movie for getting me fired up to draw a chibi Gambit! At first, I thought I wouldn't get any ideas for chibi Gambit to go with "Lil' Rogue"... but thanks to the movie, I got an inspiration. Dammit... Zardra was right; he's still sexy as a chibi too!! done with: sketched with pencils, "inked" and coloured with OpenCanvas 4.03 plus and edited with Adobe Photoshop CS2. I don't know what it is about the whole 'bobble-head' approach, but it never gets tiresome.
One question - how do you go about tackling the hair on these characters? I've found a solution for rendering hair on my own comic book characters, but to be honest I'd rather ditch it and go down a more traditional and accepted route. it's a weakness of my character art, so any tips would be appreciated!

"Bobble-head?"
Ooh, tough question. Hmmm... how to answer it...? Well, I have admit that it took years for me to find this style to draw hair for the characters. Always taking tips from others' tutorials - from here and from art books. Mostly, I practised until I found the way. I, too, started with more traditional way, but then I came across with anime and manga and fell in love with that style.
Whenever I come up with a new hair-style, I sketch it out with simple lines before finishing up the actual hair-style. You know, curly lines, wavy lines, straight lines, long, short... And then trying *not* to over-do them. I mean, don't draw too much and don't draw so few.
Does this make any sense at all...?

I've found that hair, eyes and facial details are the hardest parts of character designs to really nail - I just about got to grips with eyes!
It seems like every tutorial I look at gives me a little nudge in the right direction. It just... takes time!
Thanks for the input!

As they say: "practise makes it perfect." In time, you will get the hang of it. (I also have weakness of drawing cities, apartments and streets.)
Tutorials are excellent guides to the right direction.
